Each kit includes one MODTECH pen and the 3mL cartridge pack listed in its title. Check the model, pack size, and available color above before adding it to your cart.

Pens and cartridges ship empty.

02

0.01 mL per click, felt rather than read.

The mechanical dial has 60 click stops, with a 0.01 mL increment per click.

03

Compatible cartridges, included

The included 3mL glass cartridges fit your MODTECH pen. Each cartridge is steam sterilized and individually sealed.

When you need replacements, MODTECH 10-pack and 20-pack cartridges fit both V2 and V3 pens.

How it’s built

The plunger rides on a corkscrew thread.

That’s what turns one click into a fixed amount of travel. The V2 and V3 share the same mechanism, so switching models changes the look, not the numbers.

What is included?

This kit includes one pen and the cartridge quantity shown in the product title. Pens and cartridges ship empty.

V2 or V3 — which one do I buy?

Whichever one you like the look of. They're mechanically identical: same 60-click dial, same 0.01 mL per click, same cartridge.

The V2 is the cheaper of the two. There is no "more accurate" model, so you're not trading away precision either way.

Do I have to refill it before every session?

No, and that's the whole point of the pen. You fill a cartridge once, drop it in, and every session after that is dial, dispense, done. The filling step happens once per cartridge instead of once per session.

New pen feels stiff. Is it faulty?

Almost certainly not. That's the mechanism bedding in, not a fault, and a brand-new pen tested this way looks broken when it isn't. Resistance is the sum of several things and they stack — a fine tip on a cold, slightly viscous solution feels far worse than either problem alone.

Do you sell pen tips?

No, we do have recommendations over at the Pen Tips page.

The pens take standard universal screw-on pen needles, available anywhere they're sold. Fresh tip every session.

Does it come pre-filled?

No. Pens and cartridges ship empty. It dispenses whatever you put into the cartridge, at the amount you dial, and it has no opinion about what that is.

How fast does it ship? Does it come in one box?

Free shipping on U.S. orders only. Processing takes 1–2 business days. Estimated delivery is 3–5 business days after processing. Tracking is emailed when your order ships.

The pen and the cartridges are packed separately at the fulfillment center, so a kit can arrive as two packages, sometimes a day apart. You get a shipping email with a tracking number for each one. If one arrives and the other's tracking stops updating, email tfortech@modtechsupply.net.
